Blue Farming

Blue farming is another way of talking about raising aquatic species in controlled environments. In Wisconsin, a variety of blue-farming strategies are used to sustainably increase food production, reduce the strain on wild fish populations, and improve the lives of farmers and communities. One of these strategies, Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), allows farms like Superior Fresh to raise Atlantic salmon indoors.
