Great Lakes Cisco and Lake Whitefish Roe

Wisconsin Sea Grant created the following tri-fold brochure in 2023 to help explain how cisco and lake whitefish are sustainably managed and harvested in the Great Lakes. The brochure was developed for consumers in Sweden where Great Lakes roe and sustainable fisheries are highly prized. Note that cisco are only harvested out of Lake Superior. About 99% of the lake whitefish harvest happens in lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron.
